A Rainy Day Encounter
It was a quiet afternoon when the sky suddenly turned grey. Rain started falling heavily over the small town streets. People rushed for cover, but Ayaan stayed near the bus stop, waiting.
He had just finished an exam and was tired, both mentally and physically. His phone battery was dead, and the next bus was late.
That’s when he noticed her.
She stood a few steps away, holding a book over her head to protect it from the rain. She looked frustrated but calm at the same time. After a few minutes, she glanced at Ayaan.
“Bus is always late in this weather,” she said casually.
Ayaan smiled slightly. “Seems like it enjoys the rain more than we do.”
That made her laugh.
They started talking—about school, books, and how unpredictable life felt sometimes. The rain didn’t stop, but the waiting didn’t feel boring anymore.
When the bus finally arrived, she got on first, then turned back and said, “Maybe we’ll meet again in another late bus moment.”
Ayaan nodded, smiling. “Maybe.”
As the bus drove away, he realized something simple—sometimes, the best moments come when nothing goes as planned.
